In a recent development, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has initiated legal proceedings against the proprietors of three unauthorized housing schemes.
According to reports, formal complaints (FIRs) were lodged at the Mandra police station by the MP&TE Directorate of RDA against the owners of these illegal housing projects. The schemes are located in Tehsil Gujjar Khan’s Mauza Kari Dulal on GT Road Mandra, Mauza Sahang, and Mauza Sahang Mandra on Chakwal Road.
A spokesperson for the RDA emphasized that the directorate aims to curb the unauthorized marketing and promotion of these illicit housing schemes through legal measures. Prior to filing FIRs, notices were issued to the proprietors of the three illegal housing complexes.
It has been reiterated by the spokeswoman that commencing residential projects, apartment complexes, or commercial buildings within the restricted region without the necessary NOC is illegal. The RDA had previously issued warnings regarding the illegality of such activities, encompassing all forms of marketing, promotion, and project development by various entities including agencies, limited liability firms, and sole proprietorships.
The public has been advised by the authorities to refrain from investing in these unlawful housing plans, as they are subject to legal action by the RDA.
