The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has busted an unauthorized SIM card distribution network during a raid on a telecom franchise in Kot Addu. The operation was carried out jointly with the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle Lahore.

Officials found the franchise had been illegally distributing SIM cards to customers without proper verification protocols. The raid marks another step in PTA’s ongoing efforts to combat unauthorized mobile connections that could be used for criminal activities.
Authorities have filed charges against the franchise owners for violating telecom regulations. The PTA continues to monitor and take action against illegal SIM card operations across Pakistan to ensure public safety and security.
