Illegal Housing Schemes in Rawalpindi Receive Notices from RDA in 2024

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued notices to three unauthorized housing schemes in Rawalpindi, as per directives from RDA Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa.

The illegal developments are located on Chakri Road, Chak Beli Khan Road, and Mandra-Chakwal Road in areas of Rawalpindi and Mouza Sahang. The owners – Saeed Rizvi, Masood Azmat, and Umar Awan – were sent letters by the RDA’s Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate, a spokesperson for the authority stated.

Jappa directed the MP&TE Director to file lawsuits against the illegal marketing and advertising of these unauthorized schemes. Authorities were also instructed to register First Information Reports (FIRs) against the owners of such illegal housing projects.

The RDA spokesperson advised that sponsors of these unauthorized schemes should refrain from advertising them. Consumers were cautioned against investing in unapproved developments and to verify the status of housing projects on the RDA’s official website.

The RDA’s Planning Wing has also approached the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing regarding legal action against the deceptive marketing of unauthorized schemes.
