ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has initiated a major housing project called the ‘Model Village Project’ in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) that will span over two years.
Under the project, 4,500 residential plots of 10 marlas each will be developed on 3,621 kanals of land as part of the ambitious model town plan. Meeting the housing needs of the community is one of the objectives of the comprehensive scheme.
According to details, the model village will have a commercial hub and three class-III shopping centers to cater to various needs of the residents. It will also incorporate a health facility to ensure well-being and safety of people living there.
Moreover, a Jamia mosque will serve as the spiritual center of the community.
An important aspect is that each residential plot will be allotted to those displaced due to CDA’s acquisition of land for Park Enclave project. The main beneficiaries would be people of Mauza Rihara and Mauza Kurri.
The CDA aims to complete the model village project within the next two years. It is being seen as a major initiative to provide modern residential facilities to the residents of Islamabad.
