ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board has approved an agreement to digitize parking sites across Islamabad, aiming to address traffic congestion in commercial areas.
In a meeting on October 5th, 2023, the CDA Board ratified the decision to award the parking digitalization contract to M/S AJCL following a bidding process involving eight firms.
Under the deal, state-of-the-art equipment will be installed at all of Islamabad’s parking lots to enable automated ticketing, fee collection and monitoring. Revenue will be split between AJCL and CDA, with CDA receiving 75% of the total earnings.

CDA spokesperson Hasaan Baloch said the smart parking solution will organize haphazard parking, optimize utilization through real-time tracking, and provide convenience through cashless payments.
The move is part of CDA’s efforts to modernize parking management, ease congestion and improve traffic flow. Analysts say if implemented properly, the system can dynamically adjust parking rates to match demand, generating stable revenues for CDA.
