ISLAMABAD, Jan 30: Following the first seasonal snowfall in Murree on Monday and intermittent showers, the district administration has issued an advisory for visitors in view of heavy snowfall predictions.
The Met Office has forecast heavy snowfall in upper parts including Murree over the next 36 to 72 hours. Temperatures will remain fluctuating, so travelers must dress accordingly.
The district administration has made all necessary arrangements to deal with any untoward situation. Thirteen facilitation centers have been established across Murree, Deputy Commissioner Murree said.

The PMD has also predicted increased rainfall and snowfall in several KPK districts including Abbottabad, Mansehra, Balakot, Peshawar, Shangla, Malakand and Dir.
Additionally, heavy downpours and snowfall are expected in Kashmir as per the Met Department.
Spokesperson Tourism Authority Muhammad Saad said winter travel has started in hilly areas. Visitors are advised to use snow-compatible vehicles when visiting areas expecting snowfall.
The advisory comes after 22 tourists died in Murree during snowfall last winter. The district administration has mobilized resources to prevent any tragic incidents this season. Citizens are urged to check weather alerts before travelling to hilly areas.
