RDA Issues Notice to Company Advertising Multiple Illegal Housing Projects in Rawalpindi

In compliance with directives from Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued a notice to M/s Reliable Marketing regarding their advertising campaign promoting nine unapproved housing schemes.

According to an RDA spokesperson, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate has warned the marketing company to immediately stop publicizing the nine illegal and unauthorized housing ventures.

The spokesperson further stated that the DG has directed relevant authorities to prosecute illegal housing societies over their advertising operations.

He clarified that a housing project cannot be considered legal or approved without first obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from RDA. By advertising such projects sans the requisite approvals, the marketing firm was deceiving the public, he added. Such projects are often falsely portrayed as already approved and legal when being marketed or promoted. The company has been directed to immediately halt the advertising of these illegal ventures.

Residents have also been urged to verify status of any housing project on RDA’s official website, www.rda.gop.pk, as per the DG’s instructions.
