Islamabad, Pakistan – The holy month of Ramadan is expected to begin on March 11 this year in Pakistan, according to predictions by astronomers and the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
This will mark the first time in 26 years that Ramadan falls entirely in the winter month of March for Muslims worldwide. The Saudi Arabian government has already announced March 11 as the projected start date.

Typically observed in the spring, the timing of Ramadan is shifting earlier into the winter due to the lunar calendar being 11 days shorter than the solar year. This means Ramadan will occur in winter months until 2031, followed by autumn months until 2039 before returning to spring.
