Pakistan Witnesses Significant Reduction in LPG Prices

Karachi, Pakistan – In a recent development, the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in Pakistan has experienced a substantial decrease of Rs70 per kilogram. The new prices have dropped from Rs250 to Rs180 per kg, providing relief to consumers across the country.

Irfan Khokhar, the Chairman of the LPG Distributors Association, confirmed the news and attributed the price reduction to the arrival of three LPG ships at the Karachi port. He further stated that the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) lowered its production costs following the arrival of these shipments.

According to Khokhar, an additional LPG ship is expected to reach Pakistan within the next two to three days. He expressed optimism that the arrival of this new shipment will lead to a further decrease in LPG prices, benefiting consumers even more.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) spokesperson announced that the official notification for the revised LPG prices will be issued on June 1. However, the spokesperson clarified that distributors have the discretion to sell LPG at lower rates than those set by Ogra, emphasizing that it is their own decision to do so.

The Ogra spokesperson also stressed that no distributor is permitted to sell LPG at prices higher than those regulated by the authority, ensuring that consumers are not subjected to any undue price hikes.

This significant reduction in LPG prices comes as a welcome relief for households and businesses that rely heavily on this essential fuel for cooking and other purposes. The decreased prices are expected to ease the financial burden on consumers and contribute to a more affordable cost of living in Pakistan.

As the country awaits the official price notification from Ogra and the arrival of the additional LPG shipment, citizens are hopeful that this positive trend in LPG prices will continue, providing much-needed relief during these challenging economic times.
