Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Proposes New Road Link Between Abbottabad and Hazara Motorway

Peshawar, January 16: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has proposed constructing a direct road connecting Abbottabad city to the Hazara Motorway, according to officials.

The provincial administration has sent a proposal to the federal government for building a tunnel-based interchange along with a request to expand the Sherwan Interchange on the motorway.

The primary objective of this major project is to provide seamless connectivity between Abbottabad city, Mansehra, Nathiagali and adjoining districts, eventually helping reduce traffic congestion in Abbottabad.

The proposal was discussed recently at a meeting in Abbottabad, where officials deliberated upon priority issues like the Abbottabad BRT project, drainage and road problems near Peshawar Morr where the Hazara Motorway currently ends.

The direct Abbottabad-Hazara Motorway link road aims to boost tourism and economic growth in KP’s picturesque Hazara region by improving transportation infrastructure.
