ISLAMABAD, Jan 29: The federal government has officially declared February 5, 2024 as a public holiday in solidarity with Kashmir, the Cabinet Division announced today.
Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed annually in Pakistan to express support for the people of Kashmir living under Indian occupation since 1947.
According to the press release, there will be a one-minute silence observed nationwide at 10:00 am to pay homage to the Kashmiri martyrs who sacrificed their lives fighting for freedom.

On this day, solidarity events, rallies and programs are arranged across Pakistan to highlight the plight of Kashmiris and their right to self-determination under UN resolutions. The holiday aims to send a message of unity and solidarity to the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir.
The government stated its unflinching commitment to continue supporting the just struggle of Kashmiris for their inalienable right to decide their own future.
