Experts say such irregular extreme weather patterns are becoming more common in Pakistan due to climate change, marked by severe rainfalls and shifting monsoon trends. More rainfall has been forecast for Balochistan, KP, GB, Kashmir and parts of Punjab, Islamabad and Sindh over the coming days. There are concerns the situation could deteriorate further as strong weather systems are expected to dump heavy rain, thunderstorms and snowfall over western Pakistan starting Saturday until Sunday, impacting various parts of the country.Authorities are on high alert to manage any flooding, landslides or damage. But the country’s infrastructure remains ill-equipped to cope with the growing climate instability.
