Chinese Military to Participate in Pakistan National Day Parade, Hiking Trails Closed in Islamabad

Islamabad (AP) – In a significant development, the Ministry of National Defense of China has announced its participation in the upcoming Pakistan National Day military parade scheduled for March 23. The move comes after the Chinese military accepted an invitation from the Pakistani army.

According to official sources, a contingent from the Guard of Honor of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will be part of the grand celebration. This move is seen as a gesture of solidarity and strengthening of military ties between the two nations.

In preparation for the parade, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued a notice for the temporary closure of all hiking trails in Islamabad from March 19 to March 23. Trails 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 will remain off-limits to the public between 5 am and 5 pm during this period.

The CDA has cited Parade Day preparations as the primary reason for the closure and has urged the public to comply with the decision to avoid any inconvenience. Authorities have assured that the hiking trails will be reopened for public access after the conclusion of the parade on March 23.

As the two countries gear up for the grand event, the participation of the Chinese military is expected to be a highlight, further solidifying the strong bilateral ties between Pakistan and China.
