Cold Wave Grips Punjab! But Heavy Snow Unlikely Despite Rumors

Frigid temperatures dipping to just a few degrees have been recorded across Punjab and surrounding areas. However, despite circulating rumors on social media, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has downplayed predictions of unusually heavy snowfall hitting Punjab cities.

The Meteorological Department has cautioned people against false information spreading on social media. Rather, they stress that dense fog will persist across Punjab and KP plains, while icy conditions are forecast for Kashmir, upper KP, and Pothohar region including Islamabad.

Light rain and snowfall is predicted for mid-January in GB and Chitral only. Fog will keep afternoon highs below normal. Travelers are advised to take precautions on cloudy days
